1.Meltblown non-woven fabric making process
①Polymer Preparation: Polymer pellets, usually polypropylene (PP) or other thermoplastic materials, are melted to form a molten polymer.
②Extrusion: The molten polymer is extruded through spinnerets (fine nozzles) to form continuous filaments.
③Meltblowing: High-velocity hot air or gas is blown onto the extruded filaments, causing them to be stretched and attenuated into much smaller fibers. These fibers are then collected onto a moving belt or drum to form a web.
④Bonding: The collected fibers form a loose nonwoven web. To give the fabric strength and integrity, bonding techniques such as thermal bonding or chemical bonding may be applied. Thermal bonding involves heating the fibers to fuse them together, while chemical bonding involves applying adhesive chemicals to bind the fibers.
⑤Finishing: The finished fabric may undergo additional treatments such as calendering (smoothing), printing, or surface treatments to enhance certain properties like water repellency or antimicrobial properties.
